Wildcats lose on the road

The Swift Current Federal Credit Union Wildcats lost both games of a Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League road trip over the weekend.  

Saturday, the Wildcats met their match in Saskatoon in a 7-1 loss to the host Stars. Reese Kampen scored the only goal with assists from Taylre Becker and Dior Stringer. Ashley Vezeau allowed two goals on four shots over 8:07. Jordyn Ottenbreit made 41 saves on 46 shots over 51:53.

Halle Duchene led the Stars with two goals, while Taryn Sutter made 27 saves on 28 shots. 

Saturday, the Wildcats lost 4-2 to the host Prince Albert Northern Bears. Kaylee Williams and Kyla Benjamin both scored with assists from Stevie Christiaens and Raela Packet. Ottenbreit made 20 saves in the loss. 

Jersie Andersen scored twice for the Bears, while Olivia Trann and Marly Dumanski also scored. Annika Neufeldt made 26 saves in the win. 

The Wildcats will return to league action on Jan. 9 when they visit the Stars in Martensville.
