Two Broncos ranked by Central Scouting

Two members of the Swift Current Broncos were named to NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Watch List for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, which was announced on Oct. 23.  

Defenseman Peyton Kettles was named a ‘B’ prospect, indicating a selection in the second or third round.

The 6’5’’ blueliner from Winnipeg has two goals, two assists, and 11 penalty minutes in nine games this season. He was the sixth overall selection in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. Kettles had 13 points in 61 games as a rookie in 2022-23.
Forward Ty Coupland was given a ‘W’ rating as a player who could be selected in the sixth or seventh round.

Coupland is a 5’10’’ forward from North Vancouver. He has six goals and three assists in 11 games this season. Coupland was drafted in the second round, 42nd overall, in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. He had 14 goals and 17 assists in 61 games during his rookie season in 2023-24.

Seven WHL players were given ‘A’ ratings, indicating first round draft potential. Blake Fiddler (Edmonton Oil Kings), Lynden Lakovic (Moose Jaw Warriors), Roger McQueen (Brandon Wheat Kings), Joshua Ravensbergen (Prince George Cougars), Cole Reschny (Victoria Royals), and Jackson Smith (Tri-City Americans) all received ‘A’ ratings.

The Broncos will host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday and the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday as they look to extend their two-game winning streak.
