The U13 Surge boys basketball team was in Regina this weekend for the BSI Club Championships.
The Surge opened Silver Division round robin action with a 65-14 win over the Humboldt Heat. Calum Shea led the way with 22 points, followed by 17 from Gradyn Jackson and nine points from Liam Holliday.
They dropped their second game 63-43 to Golden Ticket Black. Shea and Jackson each scored 14 points in the loss, followed by six points from Kaelen Dyck.
They placed second in their pool to earn a playoff game against D Pool winner, the Martensville Thunder.
The Thunder hit two end of quarter mid-court shots on their way to a 50-48 win over the Surge. Shea paced the Surge with 19 points, followed by 14 from Jackson and seven from Dyck.
