The Swift Current Southwest Sports Group Broncos were on the opposite ends of blowout games during a two-game road trip in the South Sask U18 AA Hockey League over the weekend.
Friday, the Broncos lost 8-1 to the host Estevan Bruins. Ryder Bradford scored the only goal with assists from Carter Tuplin and Jake Hudec.
Rhett Jamieson took the loss with four saves on eight shots. Conner Bender made 12 saves on 16 shots over 44:56 of relief work.
Lucas Campbell led Estevan with three goals and one assist. Ty Fehrenbach earned the win with 24 saves.
Saturday, the Broncos returned to the win column with a 10-3 victory over the host Moose Jaw Warriors.
Bradford led the scoring barrage with three goals and two assists. Tuplin added two goals and one assist, while Jake Hudec and Brett Stusrud each registered a goal and two assists. Tyler Hudec, Nate Laforge, and Dylan Gedny also scored. Aston Annesley finished with three assists, while Riley Moberg and Dylan Hallborg added single helpers.
Jamieson earned the win with 29 saves.
The Broncos finished the weekend with a 12-11-0-2 record.
The Broncos will return to league action on Jan. 20 when they host the Regina Rangers.
