The Southwest Facility Foundation officially announced its first donation on October 16th with a fundraising goal of $8,000,000 (8 million) to help support the construction of new sports, leisure, and recreation facilities in Swift Current. The Southwest Facility Foundation is excited to announce it has received its first family commitment to the campaign — $100,000 from Travis and Shauna Cuthbert.
Travis Cuthbert has been a strong advocate and founding member of the Southwest Facility Foundation. He has been rallying community members to support this foundation and now is also supporting the initiative through a financial commitment with his family.
“We really wanted to show our family is committed to this foundation and project, not just through volunteering but also financially,” explains Travis and Shauna Cuthbert. “We grew up in Swift Current and want to ensure our children and future generations have quality facilities right here in Swift Current to lead active and healthy lifestyles. Having our children involved in the many recreational facilities and talking to families, you can see and hear the need for these facilities and how they are crucial for communities to lead healthy lifestyles, have community pride, and generate economic development. “
