The Swift Current Broncos dropped their third straight game in a 4-2 loss to the visiting Winnipeg Ice in a Family Day matinee.
The Ice scored 6:58 into regulation when Zack Ostapchuk scored on a four-on-four rush.
The Broncos tied the game 7:24 into the middle stanza when Luke Mistelbacher knocked home his own rebound for his sixth goal of the season. Winnipeg quickly regained the lead when Zach Benson kicked in a shorthanded goal, his 29th goal of the season
Captain Owen Pickering tied the game for the Broncos midway through the third period when his screened point shot off a face-off win found the back of the net for his eighth goal.
Benson scored a power play goal to restore the Ice lead at 12:29 of the third period right after the Broncos had two quality chance scoring chances at the other end. Pederson added an empty net goal in the final minute to close out a three-point outing.
Reid Dyck made 22 saves for the Broncos to fall to 10-17-1-0.
Mason Beaupit turned aside 31 of 32 shots for the Ice to improve to 11-11-0-1 on the season.
The Broncos fell to 25-25-1-2 in the loss. Winnipeg improved to 42-7-1-0 with their seventh straight win.
The Broncos will host the B.C. Division leading Kamloops Blazers (36-10-4-2) on Wednesday.
