The Swift Current Wolverines lost a pair of close games to the visiting Saskatoon Jr. Swat in the Prairie Gold Junior Lacrosse League on Sunday.
The Wolverines dropped the opener 10-9 in back and forth affair. Carter Michaluk led the home team with a goal and two assists, followed by three-assist performances from Riley Pribyl and Carter Lamotte. Houston Finlayson and Austin Klimm each scored twice.
Ryder Turko and Isaac Froese each registered one goal and one assist. Adam Zanidean and Paul Piche also scored. Jonathan Lebel added one assist.
Pavel Srch led the Swat with five goals and one assist, followed by four goals and two assists from Stepan Friedl. Haaken Steen added a goal and four assists, while Wyatt Cameron finished with five assists.
Swift Current outshot the Swat 61-41 in the second game but lost 12-8 when Steen registered four goals and three assists for the visitors.
Pribyl led the Wolverines with three goals and one assist, while Michaluk added a goal and three assists. Zanidean contributed a goal and two assists, Lamotte had one goal and one assist, while Kayden Dudley added two assists. Froese and Klimm also scored. Finlayson chipped in one assist.
The Swat lead the five-team league with a 6-0-2 record, while Swift Current sit third at 3-4.
The Wolverines will conclude the regular season on Saturday at 6 p.m. against the visiting Prince Albert Predators.
