The Swift Current Broncos scored five unanswered goals to defeat the host Vancouver Giants 5-1 on Saturday. The win moved the Broncos to 1-1 on their six-game BC Division road trip.
Tobias Tomik opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal for the Giants in the first period. Hudson Kibblewhite replied for the Broncos 1:37 later and Kayd Ruedig scored later in the first period to put the Broncos in the lead for good with his third goal in two games.
Zach Pantelakis added to the lead in the second period, his third goal of the season.
Carter Moen notched his first goal of the season and Parker Rondeau scored into an empty net to close the scoring in the third period.
Cal Conway made 27 saves on 28 shots to improve to 3-1-0-0 on the season. Oliver Bryks took the loss with 23 saves in front of 3,613 fans at the Langley Events Centre.
The Broncos improved to 3-2-0-0, while Vancouver fell to 2-2-1-0.
The Broncos will visit the Penticton Vees on Tuesday.
