Southwest skaters drafted back-to-back

A pair of Southwest skaters were drafted back-to-back in the WHL Prospects Draft on Thursday.

Gull Lake’s Carter Bleau was drafted in the sixth round, 123rd overall, by the Regina Pats. The 5’10’’ defenseman registered 11 goals and 11 assists in 21 regular season games with the Swift Current U15 AA Broncos this season. He added five points in five playoff games. 

Teammate Damon James was selected with the next pick by the rival Moose Jaw Warriors. The 5’6’’ forward had 38 goals and 27 assists in 26 games. The Swift Current native added six points in five playoff games.
