The Swift Current Comp. Senior Ardens entered 5A Hoopla ranked sixth and finished with one win and two losses in Moose Jaw to place sixth in the province this season.
The Ardens lost their opening game 65-48 to Regina Miller on Thursday. They trailed 22-11 after one quarter, but fought back to lead 31-30 at halftime. They were outscored 20-6 in the third quarter after foul issues put the Marauders into the bonus.
Dani Jackson led the Ardens with 16 points, followed by 10 from Bree Pavely. Naimy Regier added eight points, while Rowan Robinson finished with seven points.
Sarah Cameron led Miller with 24 points and Teni Odutayo added 12 points while protecting the rim with her length.
The Ardens defeated Prince Albert Carlton 68-53 in the consolation semi-final on Friday afternoon. Jackson paced the Ardens with 19 points, followed by 14 from Pavely and 12 from Robinson.
Saturday, the Ardens lost 82-69 to Regina Winston Knoll. Jackson led the Ardens again with 18 points, followed by 12 from Pavely and 11 from Regier.
