Four Swift Current United Soccer Club teams took part in the Sask Cup futsal championship in North Battleford over the weekend.
The United U18 Boys won gold with 6-1 and 5-2 victories over SYSI Futsal. Griffin Striker was named the Sask Cup Most Valuable Player.
The U16 United Boys won silver with a 3-2 record. They lost their opening match 3-2 to Moose Jaw’s Excelsior FC. They rebounded with a 6-2 win over Yorkton United, a 4-0 win over QC United, and a 2-0 win over Battlefords Futsal Academy. They lost the gold medal match 5-2 to Excelsior.
The U18 United Girls also won silver with a 2-1-1 record. They opened the weekend with a 3-1 win over SYSI Futsal on Friday. They tied Yorkton 0-0 on Saturday and defeated Excelsior FC 5-2. They lost the gold medal match 3-0 to Yorkton United. Swift Current was award the Fair Play Award for the tournament.
The U14 United Girls lost 3-2 to Battlefords, 5-2 to QC United Taylor, and 3-1 to QC United Sabrina.
