The Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats lost both road games to the league leading Battlefords Sharks over the weekend.
Saturday, the Wildcats dropped the opener 5-3 when they were outshot 38-22.
Laynee Rondeau finished with two goals and one assist, including an unassisted shorthanded goal in the third period to tie the game 3-3. Stevie Christiaens also scored, while Madden Rublee added one assist. Emilee Klapak made 33 saves on 37 shots in the loss.
Danika Dureau led the Sharks with two goals, followed by singles from Sarah McNabb, Anneka Aspaas, and Brooke Weber. Aura Sembalerus made 19 saves in the win.
Sunday, the Wildcats dropped the rematch 6-2. The game was tied 1-1 in the second period before the Sharks scored the next five goals.
Charlize Hillmer and Christiaens scored with an assist from Reese Kampen. Ashley Vezeau made 29 saves in the loss.
Harbour Janz led the Sharks with two goals as five different players scored. Mackenzie Seth made 21 saves.
Battlefords continues to lead the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League with a 20-1-3-1 record. Swift Current sits third with a 14-8-3-2 record.
The Wildcats will visit the Regina Rebels on Sunday in their only game this week.
