Broncos come back to stun Pats

Swift Current Broncos defenseman Jace McFaul tied the game with a wraparound goal in a 5-3 win over the Regina Pats on Jan. 30.

Aiden Eskit made 50 saves and the Swift Current Broncos scored three unanswered goals to stun the visiting Regina Pats 5-3 on Friday. 

The Broncos opened the scoring with an Anthony Wilson marker, his 11th goal of the season, 1:12 into regulation. The Pats tied the game when Keets Fawcett scored his 24th goal 3:03 later. Carter Moen gave the Broncos a second lead on a quick shot on a three-on-two rush for his third goal. 

The Pats tied the game again in the second period with a Zach Moore goal and then took the lead with a power play goal from Ruslan Karimov on a screened point shot.    

Defenseman Jace McFaul tied the game with a wraparound goal 13:15 into the third period. Sawyer Dingman knocked home the winning goal from in tight with only 1:52 remaining in regulation. Brennan Brown added an empty net goal after setting up the tying goal. 

The Broncos improved to 12-31–3-0, while Regina fell to 15-24-5-1.

Eskit improved to 2-11-1-0 with his second straight win.

Marek Schlenker fell to 9-13-4-1 with 23 saves on 27 shots.

The Broncos will continue a seven-game home stand on Saturday when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings.
