The Swift Current Broncos were shutout for the second time in as many nights in a 4-0 loss to the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings.
The two teams played a competitive opening period, but the Wheat Kings took the lead with a late goal from former Broncos defenseman Grayson Burzynski with only 20 seconds remaining in the period.
The Wheat Kings doubled the lead early in the second period with a power play goal from Joby Baumuller, his 26th of the season. The Wheat Kings added to the lead late in the period with a power play goal from Jaxon Jacobson.
They closed the scoring with a late goal from Luke Mistelbacher, his 20th goal of the season.
Archer Cooke made his Western Hockey League debut for the Broncos and made 33 saves on 37 shots.
Jayden Kraus made 23 saves for Brandon in his first shutout of the season.
The Broncos fell to 8-26-1-0 with their 15th straight loss, while Brandon improved to 22-12-1-0 as they improved to 11-1 in the month of December.
The Broncos will visit the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday and then host the Hurricanes on Saturday.
