Wildcats win fifth straight

The Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats stretched their league winning streak to five games with a road win on Saturday.

The Wildcats scored three goals in the first period and then held on for a 3-2 win over the Weyburn Gold Wings in Rosetown.

Charlize Hilmer, Madden Rublee, and Piper Arntsen all scored for the Wildcats. Ella Schenher had two assists, while Rowyn Baptist, Hayden Hilbig, Olivia Ferguson, and Raela Packet all added single helpers. Emilee Klapak made 23 saves on 25 shots in the win.

Harper Danchilla and Skyla McNichol scored power play goals for the Gold Wings. Maci Patterson took the loss after allowing three goals over 18:17. Tila Boyd stopped all six shots she faced over the final 41:43.

The Wildcats remain third in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League with a 7-4-0-0 record. Weyburn fell to 3-7-0-1.
