The Swift Current Broncos lost 3-2 to the host Saskatoon Blades on Friday.
The Broncos tied the game twice with goals from Jaxen Gauchier and Anthony Wilson, but Tyrone Sobry scored the only goal of the third period to lift the Blades to the win.
Rookie Aiden Eskit made 32 saves in the loss. Ryley Budd made 13 saves for the Blades in his first Western Hockey League game. Cooper Williams and Dominik Petr also scored for the Blades.
The Broncos fell to 8-12-1-0, while Saskatoon improved to 14-8-2-0.
The Broncos will visit the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday.
