The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires won the first two home games of their Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League regular season schedule.
They opened the weekend with a 6-0 win over Notre Dame Hounds on Friday. Cade Mitchell made 19 saves in the shutout. Defenseman Jake Hargrave assisted on four of the goals for the home team. Hunter Wilm and Mason Fauser both finished with two goals and one assist.
Kyler Bilokreli and Finn Gustafson also scored. Kasey Gleim registered two assists. Liam VanCaeseele, Trae Peterson, and Jaxson Squires all added assists.
The Legionnaires followed up with a 6-2 win in the rematch on Saturday. Josh Benjamin made 22 saves on 23 shots.
Peterson and Bilokreli led the Legionnaires with one goal and two assists each. Gleim, Ryder Leshures, and Fauser both added a goal and an assist. Rory Dewar also scored.
Matt Henkelman, Riley Schmiess, Hunter Wilm, Kohen Ruedig, and Porter Nickason all added assists.
The Legionnaires will host the Estevan Bears on Friday at 7:45 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the InnovationPlex.
