SWAC runners compete in cross country championship

Athletes from across the Southwest took part in the SWAC Cross Country Championship at Antelope Lake on Oct. 1.

Athletes from three different schools won races in the Pee Wee and Bantam divisions. Fairview’s Bobbi Deobald won Pee Wee Girls in 9:39. Fairview’s Chad Logan added a win in Bantam Boys in 7:26.

All Saints’ Leo MacLeod raced to the Pee Wee Boys title in 8:47. Waldeck’s Kysa Getzinger claimed the win in Bantam Girls in 8:45.

Eastend’s Claire Topham won Intermediate Girls in 14:56. Herbert’s Cole Falk added a win in Intermediate Boys in 13:33.

The Swift Current Comp. Ardens and Colts won the other four age divisions. Janaye Risdale won Junior Girls in 23:23. Keely Tuchscherer topped the Senior Girls Division in 21:26. Luc Perrault won Junior Boys in 17:13. Colter Folk won the Senior Boys Division in 14:04.

The SHSAA Provincial Cross Country Championship will take place at Deer Park Golf Course in Yorkton on Oct. 11.
