The Swift Current Broncos announced the signing of two players earlier this week.
On Monday, the Broncos announced the signing of 2007-born defenseman Brennan Hocher.
The Broncos selected the Calgary product in the ninth round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. He has spent the past three seasons with the Okotoks Oilers in the AJHL and BCHL.
Hocher is committed to the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Tuesday, the Broncos officially signed 2025 first-round pick Cohenn Rotar to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
The Grande Prairie, Alberta forward was selected 22nd overall. He registered 34 goals and 33 assists in 34 regular season games with the U15 AAA Grande Peace Storm in the Alberta Elite Hockey League last season.
Today, the Broncos announced that they had released overage forwards Connor Gabriel and Kurt Rookes.
Rookes had six points in 48 regular season games with the Broncos last season.
Gabriel played nearly 200 games with the Broncos after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft. He had eight goals and 16 assists in 68 regular season games in 2024-25.
The moves leave goaltender Joey Rocha, defesneman Marek Rocak, and forwards Anthony Wilson, Connor Dale, and Trae Wilke competing for the three overage spots this season.
The Broncos added a series of moves on Thursday, reassigning the following players to their respective clubs: Cohenn Rotar, Alex Letourneau, Jamie Kirwan, Gavin Faul, Tanner Massey, Gavin Harrison, Luke Huska, Kasey Gleim, Quinn Pickering, Weston Kostiuk, Lucas Conrad, and Jayden Simpson.
The Broncos also released forward Owen Mastroianni.
