The Swift Current U17 Sonic softball team won twice in Carlyle on Saturday.
They defeated the Estevan Elite 14-0 when they combined six hits with 13 walks to win in five innings. Bree Pavely struck out eight while allowing only two hits and two walks over four scoreless innings.
Kyra Strutt had two singles, scored twice, and had three runs batted in. Taylor Schury singled, walked twice, scored, and had two RBIs.
The Sonic lost 6-3 to the Twin City Angels when they were held to three hits. Serena Kochan and Mackenzie Smith both hit home runs in the loss.
The Sonic added a 12-1 victory over the Saskatoon Selects Outlaws. Pavely and Smith shared the four-inning win as they combined for nine strikeouts with only two hits allowed.
Kochan singled twice, stole two bases, scored twice, and had one RBI. Smith singled, doubled, scored, and had two RBIs. Brynn Haubrich singled twice, scored twice, and knocked one run home. Lyla Thiessen singled twice, scored twice, and had one RBI.
