Many of the Swift Current United Soccer Club teams wrapped up their seasons at FCR Summerfest in Regina over the weekend.
The U13 Girls United Rapid rattled off four victories to claim gold, including three straight one-goal wins over Winnipeg clubs. The U13 Girls United Rapid won their opener 3-1 over Humboldt on Friday. Saturday, they continued the round robin with a 3-2 win over Winnipeg FC and a 1-0 victory over Winnipeg’s SC Force. They put it all together in the final to defeat Winnipeg’s 1v1 Futbol Dreams 2-1 on a pair of early goals from striker Beth Mohagen.
The U13 Girls United Reign tied Prince Albert 1-1 on Friday. They added a 7-0 win over the Regina FCR Royals on Saturday morning before their season came to an end in a controversial 4-2 loss to 1v1 Futbol Dreams.
The U9 United Boys won their opener 9-3 over FCR Athletico Ottawa on Friday. They added a 3-1 win over the FCR HFX Wanderers and a 3-1 win over the FCR Valour on Saturday.
The U11 Division I Boys finished with two wins and a loss in Regina. They won 4-1 over QC United and 7-1 over FCR Man City. They also lost 3-2 to FCR Barcelona.
The U11 Division II Boys United Red had a 2-0 win over FCR Wrexham, a 1-1 draw against QC United, and a 6-2 loss to the Whitecaps.
The U11 Division II United Boys Yellow lost 4-1 to Humboldt, 10-0 to SC Force, and 6-2 to FCR AC Milan.
The U11 Division 1 Girls won twice in Regina. They won their opener 3-1 over Regina’s FCR. They lost 1-0 to FCR in their second match. They wrapped up the weekend with a 4-0 win over Regina QC on Sunday.
The U11 Division II Girls also had a successful weekend with three straight wins. They won their opener 4-1 over Regina QC United on Friday. They added a 3-1 win over the Regina FCR Saints on Saturday. They closed out Summerfest with a 5-0 victory over the FCR Rebels.
The U15 United Boys finished with two draws and two losses in Division I in Regina.
Friday, they lost 2-1 to Medicine Hat RASC and 5-1 to the St. Charles Force. They also tied Regina FCR Legion 1-1 and tied QC United 1-1 to conclude the tournament.
The U9 United Girls suffered three losses to FCR over the weekend.
