57’s win second straight

After losing their opening nine games, the Swift Current 57’s have now won two straight after a 9-4 road victory over the Regina Red Sox on Wednesday. 

Adam Korte earned the win as he scattered eight hits, three walks, and two runs over 6.1 innings. Jaylen Gutierrez closed out the win with 1.2 scoreless innings.

The 57’s scored runs in five different innings as they totaled 15 hits.

Leadoff man Silas Hilton led the offense with four hits, including a double, one stolen base, and three runs scored. Gus Koehn singled, tripled, walked twice, scored twice, and had two runs batted in. Wilmer Henriquez singled twice, scored, and knocked home one run. Rydell Adair singled twice, scored, and had one RBI. Braxton Vail singled, walked, and had two RBIs. Donovan Borg singled twice, scored, and had one RBI.

The 57’s improved to 2-9, while Regina fell to 6-4. The 57’s will host the Medicine Hat Mavericks on Thursday to open a three-game home stand.
