Sonic win Regina gold

The Swift Current U17 Sonic Softball team had a successful weekend in Regina as they went 5-0 to claim the tournament title at the 16-team Sharon Knott Memorial Tournament.

The Sonic won their pool with wins over the Valley Vipers (12-5), Regina Royal Roadrunners (16-3), and the Lumsden Cubs (15-0). 

In the semi-final, the Sonic scored six runs in the first inning and five runs in the third inning to cruise to a 15-3 win over the Northeast Riverdogs. 

In the final against the Quad Town Steelers, the Sonic again started fast scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning, which propelled them to an 11-1 win.

The next action for the Sonic is Wednesday, May 28 when they play their first game in the Moose Jaw Ladies Fastball League.
