Dezainde lifts Broncos to overtime win

The Swift Current Broncos required late game heroics to defeat the visiting Wenatchee Wild 2-1 in overtime on Saturday.

Carlin Dezainde was the overtime hero with 43 seconds remaining as he scored his 24th goal of the season. His shot from the face-off dot trickled over the line to seal the win. The Broncos had been held off the scoreboard for 58:19 until Rylan Gould scored a power play goal to force overtime.

The Broncos held a 10-5 advantage on the shot clock but trailed after one period when Tye Spencer knocked a rebound home on the rush with 4:32 remaining.

Reid Dyck made 19 saves to improve to 17-17-1-0. Brenden Gee took the loss with 32 saves to fall to 6-9-1-0

The Broncos moved to 27-20-1-1 with their third straight win. Wenatchee improved to 18-28-4-1 as they finished their East Division road trip with a 1-4-1-0 record.

The Broncos will host the Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday.
