The Swift Current Broncos announced a trade on Thursday to bring local forward Hudson Darby back home. The 2006-born forward appeared in 118 regular season games over the past three seasons in Portland, totalling 16 goals, 16 assists, and 82 penalty minutes. He also had eight points in 33 playoff games.
A pair of Swift Current Broncos goaltending hopefuls led the team to a pre-season-opening win over the Regina Pats on Wednesday. Gull Lake’s Berney Weston made 27 saves on 28 shots over 31:52 for the host Broncos. Aiden Eskit came on and stopped all 18 shots he faced over the final 28:08.
