United teams medal in Saskatoon

Both Swift Current United Soccer Club teams medaled at the SUSC Indoor Tournament over the weekend.

The U13 Girls won all four games to finish their season with a tournament title in Saskatoon.

They opened the tournament with a 6-0 win over Saskatoon’s Eastside Bilbao. They added a 4-0 win over SUSC Brighton to close out the day.

The U13 Girls advanced to the final with a 7-0 win over the Aurora Galaxy.

They took on SUSC in the final and scored two unanswered goals in a 2-1 victory. After allowing the first goal in the second half, Navy Louma scored to tie the game and Dani Meyer scored in the final seconds to clinch the win.

The U15 United Girls won silver in the five-team tournament.

They opened their tournament with a 4-2 victory over the SUSC Fusion on Saturday morning. They evened their record with a 4-1 loss to the Sherwood Park Phoenix later in the day.

The U15 United Girls added a second win on Sunday with a 3-1 win over QC United. They tied SUSC U13 Premier 1-1 on Monday to conclude the round robin and snuck into the final with a better goal differential.

They rematched with Sherwood Park in the championship match and lost 3-2 in penalty kicks.
