Edge split with Clippers

The Prairie Athletic Conference Basketball Schedule got underway with a big opening matchup as the Millar Edge hosted the Briercrest Clippers on Wednesday.

The women’s game started things off with a furious pace as both teams worked to slow things down and get into a good rhythm.

The Clippers owned the first half of the game as they took it to the Edge, leading by five at half. The Edge made some adjustments and came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Clippers by 15 and winning the game 66-57.

Casey Bradford, a freshman at Millar College, took home player of the game honours.

The guys game started just as the girls did, with a lot of pace, but both teams soon found time to slow things down.

The teams traded leads throughout the first half, before the Clippers went on a run to end the half and went up by 10. The Edge brought the game back within three points in the third quarter but that was as close as they got, losing 78-65.

Bryce Parrott came away with the Player of the Game for the Edge.
