The Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos opened a new year with a 3-1 win over one of the few teams above them in the standings on Sunday.
The Broncos got points from seven different skaters, including goals from Cade Reich, Dayne Feicht, and Chase Sawchuk, to defeat the host Prairie Storm. Kaden Floberg, Ethan Fizell, and Ayden Lamarre all added assists.
Vince Pinsonneault made 36 saves on 37 shots in the win. He improved to 9-3-1 with a 2.44 goals against average and a .918 save percentage.
The Broncos are third in the South Sask League with an 18-5-1-1 record. The Prairie Storm are second with an 18-4-2-3 mark.
The Midget AA Broncos will return to league action on January 15 when they visit the last place Moose Jaw Warriors.
