It was a positive opening weekend for the Swift Current Comprehensive High School wrestling team at the Gil Wist Memorial Tournament at Walter Murray High School in Saskatoon.
The Colts and Ardens captured seven division titles, three at the Elite level and four at the Novice level. Dilan Vargas, Luke Nelson, and Noah Steinley all won Elite titles, while Ally Metke, Hillary Lacelle, Sasha Ries, and Connor Hammer won Novice titles.
Hammer led all Novice male competitors in pins and technical falls in the least amount of time.
The Ardens led all teams with the most total match points in the tournament. They also led all Novice Girls teams with 14 pins and had the most technical falls as well.
The Colts came in third for the most total match points in Elite Boys as well.

The SCCHS wrestlers will resume their season on January 10-11 at a tournament hosted by Regina Archbishop MC O’Neill.
