The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats remain unbeaten in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League after two penalty-filled games in Weyburn.
Saturday, the Wildcats scored twice on the power play and Amaya Giraudier made 19 saves in a 2-0 win.
The Wildcats finished two-for-seven on the power play in the penalty filled contest as Baylee Kirwan and Sara Kendall each finished with a goal and an assist. Maddy McCleary and Jessica Bouffard also added assists.
The Gold Wings were held off the score sheet despite nine power play opportunities. Chloe Burt took the loss while making 35 saves on 37 shots.
Giraudier improved to 3-0 with her fifth career shutout. She currently has a 0.67 goals against average and an .961 save percentage.
Sunday, the Wildcats added a 6-2 win, led by the first SFMAAAHL hat trick from McCleary. The veteran defenseman scored twice on the power play and once while shorthanded.
The Wildcats finished three-for 12 on the power play, while Weyburn could not connect on any of their 17 man-advantages.
Kendall had another productive day with one goal and four assists. She leads the league with 17 points in seven league outings.
Samantha Thompson and Ashlee Wolfe also scored, while Brooklyn Rublee and Kirwan added assists.
Cheyenne Jamieson made 28 saves to improve to 4-0 on the season. Lexi Peace took the loss with 26 saves on 32 shots.
The Wildcats improved to 6-0-1-0. They will return to SFMAAAHL action on Nov. 16 when the Notre Dame Hounds.
