Some Southwest cowboys and cowgirls did some cross border winning in Manitoba this past weekend in Canadian Cowboys’ Association action.
Travis Munro led the way by making a trip to the pay window in the steer wrestling event during all three Manitoba stops. During rodeo action in Austin MB he topped the field with a 5.3 second effort to claim $939. During the rodeo performance in Swan River he placed third with a 5.1 second run. During a stop at the Waywayseecappo Rodeo he turned in a lighting quick 3.7 second run to place second and earn a $972 payday.
The Australian cowboy now sits sixth in the steer wrestling standings.

The upcoming long weekend features a pair of rodeos in the Southwest as part of a five CCA rodeo weekend.
The 33rd annual Herbert Stampede runs on three days starting August 2. The Friday, Aug. 2 performance starts at 6 p.m., with action on Sat., Aug. 3 and Sun. Aug. 4 both starting at 2 p.m. A total prize payout of $50,000 will attract a strong field of entries.
The 12th annual Reno Rodeo will be held in Consul this Saturday and Sunday. Action on Saturday begins at 5:30 p.m., with Sunday’s performance starting at 2 p.m.
Other CCA long weekend events are being hosted in Midale (August 2), Bow Island (Aug. 2-3), and Writing On Stone (Aug. 4-5).
