The Swift Current 15U AAA 57’s finished second in the Regina Baseball League after engineering a massive upset to open the playoff tournament.
The 57’s were seeded eighth after the regular season with a 9-16-1 record, but upset the top seeded White Butte Broncos (20-5-1) 8-1 to open the playoff tournament. They tacked on a 9-7 win over Moose Jaw to place first in their pool.
The 57’s added a 10-0 win over Melville in five innings in the semi-final.
They settled for second after one bad inning in a 9-1 loss to the Regina Buffalos on Sunday.
