Heated competition at Boomtown Days Stampede

There were no Southwest event winners at the Shaunavon Boomtown Days Stampede on July 19-20, but plenty finished in the pay window.

Maple Creek’s Brady Bertram rode Boot Barn for 74 points to place third in Bareback and a $344 payday.

Maple Creek’s Adam Gilchrist tied for third in Saddle Bronc with a 74-point ride on Cervus Recharge for $326. Maple Creek’s Mike Gordon tied for fifth with 72 points aboard Jail Break for $136.

Maple Creek’s James Perrin tied for third in Junior Steer Riding with 69 points for $63.

Waldeck’s Tee McLeod tied for fourth in Tie Down Roping in 10.6 seconds for $403.

Tee McLeod also placed fourth in Steer Wrestling in Shaunavon in 7.2 seconds for $365.

The Kyle tandem of Chad and Jesse Hantelman were the lone Southwest entry in the Team Roping money in sixth spot in 8.0 seconds for $835.

Mankota’s April Williamson was seventh in Ladies Barrel Racing in 16.83 seconds for $184.

The CCA will return to the Southwest on August 2-4 for the 33rd annual Herbert Stampede.
