Southwest competitors won five events at the Pilot Butte Community Rodeo on June 14-16.
Hazenmore’s Chanse Switzer won a Canadian Cowboys Association rodeo for a second straight weekend when he conquered Border Bound for 76 points to win Bull Riding and a $949 payday.
Mankota’s Shawn Williamson also won in Pilot Butte when he finished Tie Down Roping in 8.2 seconds for $597.
Cadillac’s Brooke Lang added a third win for the Southwest when she topped Ladies Barrel Racing in 14.83 seconds for $807. Mankota’s Karli Cowie was seventh in 15.25 seconds for $175.
Waldeck’s Tee McLeod worked with Trey Gallais (Sundre, AB) to win Team Roping in 5.6 seconds for $1,743. Tuftin and Tyce McLeod were third in 7.2 seconds for $1,142.
Maple Creek’s Cassidy Gordon added a win in Junior Girls Barrel Racing in 14.99 seconds for $315. McKenna Legault was fourth in 15.25 seconds for $78.
A pair of Southwest cowboys produced top-three times in Steer Wrestling. Tee McLeod placed second in 5.1 seconds for $449. Maple Creek’s Brady Resch was hot on his heels in third in 5.2 seconds for $355.
The CCA is back in the Southwest this weekend in Maple Creek on Saturday and Sunday.
