Southwest skaters named to U16 Team Sask

Three players with ties to the Southwest were named to the 20-player roster for the SaskFirst Female U16 team.

Gull Lake’s Sadie Keller was one of the 12 forwards named to the squad after a stellar Bantam season. Keller registered 26 goals and 19 assists in 22 games with the Swift Current Colts in the Sask Female Bantam A Hockey League this season. She added six points in three playoff games as well.

Also named to the squad was Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats’ defenseman Shelby Rublee (Kindersley). The 5’6’’ rookie posted three points and 22 penalty minutes in 28 regular season games and also appeared in seven Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League playoff games.

Wildcats’ prospect Caitlyn Perlinger (Kindersley) was also named to the six-player blueline corps. Perlinger had one assist and two penalty minutes in 30 games with the West Central Wheat Kings Bantam Boys AA team in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League this past season.

The U16 Female team will be coached by Wildcats head coach Terry Pavely.
