The Swift Current Comp. wrestling team won four medals, including three gold medals, at the 2019 SHSAA Provincial Wrestling Championships in Regina.

Leading the way for the Ardens was grade 12 Aleah Nickel, who won her second straight provincial title.

After winning gold in 2018 in the 60KG division, Nickel moved up to 64KG and won gold again. She defeated Regina Campbell’s Serria Abraham by technical fall (10-0) in the gold medal match on Saturday.

Sebastien Marchand improved on his silver medal in 2018 to win provincials in his final high school season. He defeated Moose Jaw AE Peacock’s Ethan La Rose by technical fall (10-0) in the 73 KG championship match.

Luke Nelson improved on a bronze medal last year to win gold in the 69KG Division this season. He defeated Regina O’Neill’s Simon Uleryk by fall at the 4:49 mark to win his first high school provincial title.

Elijah Harden added a bronze medal for the Colts in the 77KG division. He defeated Meadow Lake’s Logan Boser by technical fall (14-4) in the bronze medal match.
