The Swift Current Comp. Ardens senior girls basketball team won two of three games at a weekend tournament in Prince Albert.
They opened the tournament with a 79-44 win over Prince Albert St. Mary. Grade 12 guard Danika Messer led the Ardens with 15 points, followed by 12 from grade nine Mackenzie McIntyre.
The Ardens followed up with a 65-52 victory over North Battleford Comp. Mackenzie Veason paced the attack with 13 points, followed by 10 from Vanessa Clothier.
The Ardens dropped the championship game 85-66 to the host Carlton Crusaders. Messer registered 18 points, followed 13 from McIntyre.
The Ardens will be back in Prince Albert on March 15-16 for 5A SHSAA Regionals where they will need a top-two finish at the six-team tournament to advance to Hoopla in Saskatoon the following weekend.
