After helping restore his high school team to it’s former glory, Henry Rempel will now join one of the top university volleyball programs in the country.

Trinity Western University Spartans’ head coach Ben Josephson recently announced that Rempel had committed to the Spartans for next season.

The 6’5’’ left side hitter recently completed a decorated career with the Swift Current Comp. Colts as he was a pivotal player in three straight provincial medal winning teams. He helped lead the Colts to their first provincial title in 18 years with a gold medal in Meadow Lake in 2017. He also won bronze in 2016 in Regina and capped his high school career with a silver medal in 5A SHSAA Provincials in Prince Albert last month.

The standout with the Junior SunDogs Volleyball Club was also a member of the Canadian U18 Youth National Team last summer.

The Spartans are currently third in the Canada West Men’s Volleyball standings with a 9-1 record. They are the top ranked team in U Sports based on the VRS statistical calculation. The Spartans have won the Tantramar Trophy four times in the past eight seasons as national champions.
