Max Patterson STEVEN MAH/SOUTHWEST BOOSTER

The Swift Current Broncos continue to reshape their roster with an eye on the future as they traded veteran forward Max Patterson to the Everett Silvertips on Monday.

In return, the Broncos will receive a fourth-round pick in the 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft and prospect Dawson Springer.

Patterson will join former teammates Sahvan Khaira and Artyom Minulin with the Silvertips, who the Broncos defeated in the WHL Championship series last season.

The 6’6’’ forward is tied for the team lead with eight goals and leads the team with 11 assists and 19 points in 27 games during his season with the Broncos. After being traded from the Kootenay Ice to the Broncos, Patterson posted 24 points while appearing in all 72 games last season. He added five goals and two assists in 26 playoff games.

Springer, 16, is currently leading the Prince Albert Mintos with 18 goals and 25 points in 21 Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League games.
