Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do finds success at Provincials

Eleven members of Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do participated in the Saskatchewan World Taekwondo Federation Provincial tournament on November 24 in Yorkton, bringing home 15 medals in sparring and poomsae (forms).

“We are super proud of everyone. They have been training hard for months and it’s great to see that their hard work paid off,” says Head Instructor, Gary Voysey.

Competitors from across the province met in Yorkton for poomsae and sparring competitions. Competitive categories are divided by age, weight and belt rank. The following individuals received medals in their divisions:

Sparring

Gold – Callie Ebner, Austin Evans, Quinten Hir, Tyneka Hir.

Silver – Anna Voysey, Jaxon Hartog, Jesse Hir, Taryn Legault.

Bronze – Jordyn Hir, Brooklyn Hir.

Poomsae

Silver – Ashlyn Evans, Austin Evans, Brooklyn Hir.

Bronze – Jaxon Hartog, Taryn Legault.

Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do has been in operation in Swift Current since 2012. The school is a part of the Saskatchewan World Taekwondo Federation and Taekwondo Canada.
