57’s one-hit by Red Sox

The Swift Current 57’s managed just a single hit in a 9-0 loss to the host Regina Red Sox on Wednesday.

Kyle Wilson held the 57’s to one base hit in a complete game shutout as he improved to 3-1 with a 1.87 earned run average.

Blake Adams had the only hit in the first inning and the stole second base for the 57’s.

Newcomer Isiah Campa was a bright spot on the mound with 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and one walk with one strikeout in his 57’s debut.

Regina scored in each of the first four innings, including a four-run fourth inning to put the game well out of reach. Erik Crossman led the Red Sox with three hits as they knocked out 14 hits and took advantage of three errors.

Regina inched closer to top spot in the Western Major Baseball League’s Eastern Division with an 18-7 record, while the 57’s fell to 14-14.

The 57’s are back at home on Thursday against the Moose Jaw Miller Express.
