AAA 57’s busy on the diamond

Three Swift Current 57’s AAA teams were in action this past weekend as another busy home weekend approaches.

The Mosquito AAA 57’s were in Lloydminster for a tournament and won four of six games to win the B-side championship.

They defeated the Yorkton Cardinals 10-8 and then downed the Edmonton Padres Blue 12-4 on Saturday. They wrapped up the day with a 12-1 loss to the Northeast Rangers.

The Mosquito 57’s opened the day on Sunday with a 6-1 win over the Sexsmith Selects. They lost to the Lloydminster Twins 12-2 before rebounding to defeat the Northeast Rangers 14-10 to conclude the tournament.

The Mosquito 57’s will host White Butte for a double header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. They will also have road games in White City and Lumsden on Sunday.

The Swift Current Peewee AAA 57’s were also in action on Sunday when they hosted the Regina Pacers in Regina Baseball League action. They lost the opener 14-3 and then dropped the second game 10-9.

The Peewee 57’s will host four games this weekend with double headers against the Melville Millionaires and Regina Buffalos beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Bantam AAA 57’s were at home for four games as they split the weekend to move to 10-2 on the season. They hosted the Regina Buffalos on Friday and lost 13-3 and 7-5. They rebounded on Sunday with 10-0 and 8-7 wins over Weyburn.

The Bantam AAA 57’s will be at home on Saturday for a double header against the Regina Pacers beginning at 1 p.m.

The Midget AAA 57’s will be in Regina for two Saskatchewan Premier Midget AAA Baseball League games this weekend against the Athletics.
