The Swift Current 16U Female Junior SunDogs volleyball team won all 10 matches to win gold at their home tournament over the weekend.
The SunDogs, coached by Shawn Hiebert, Travis Kelln, and Darren Lehmann, won 19 of 21 games to top the eight-team event.
They finished 7-0 in the round robin with wins over Shaunavon (25-5, 25-7), the Medicine Hat Wild (23-25, 25-17), Southeast Vipers (25-17, 25-16), Medicine Hat Smash (25-18, 25-23), Thunder Creek Volleyball Club (25-22, 25-23), JCVC Big Red (25-16, 25-17) and the Dunmore Broncos (25-16, 25-16).
The 16U Junior SunDogs opened the playoffs with a win over Shaunavon (25-22, 25-20) and then defeated Dunmore (25-16, 25-17). They rematched with the Medicine Hat Wild for gold and won in three sets (25-22, 19-25, 15-10).
