Legionnaires drop game two to Hounds

The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires were unable to even their Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League best-of-five semi-final series with a 4-1 loss to the visiting Notre Dame Hounds Sunday.

The Hounds got goals from four different skaters as they netted the first two goals on their way to a 2-0 series lead.

Coalson Wolford and Cordel Larson scored in the first period as the Hounds outshot the Legionnaires 13-2.

Rin Beny scored for the Legionnaires midway through the second period, but Ethan Ernst answered with a power play goal. Cole Stevenson added an empty net goal to seal the win for the Hounds.

Cody Levesque took the loss despite making 29 saves on 32 shots. Riley Kohonick made 15 saves in goal for the Hounds, who have yet to lose in five playoff outings after leading the league with a 39-2-1-2 regular season record.

Game three will be Thursday in Wilcox. Game four, if necessary, will be Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in Swift Current. Game five would be Tuesday back in Wilcox.
