Titans conquer South Sask Open

Twenty-one members of the Swift Current Titans Wrestling Club took part in the 2018 South Sask Open in Moose Jaw on Feb. 11.

The Titans won four weight divisions, were second in three others, and also produced seven third-place showings.

Leading the way was Meryk Gording-Dovell, who finished with a 4-0 record in the Novice 31-32 category. Gording-Dovell won three matches by fall and another by forfeit.

Also winning gold was Chase Auseth in Novice 48-51. He won his first match by fall and then won his second match by technical fall 12-1 over Pups’ Jacob Cardinal.

Dominic Bonogofski won all three matches to claim gold in the PeeWee 43-45 division. He defeated Pups’ Mathew Yong by decision 4-0 in his third and final match.

Chaz Vandendort finished with a 2-0 record to top the Bantam Male 31-32 category. He defeated Pups Tito Hope by fall before Hope forfeited the second match.
