The Swift Current Broncos completed a successful Alberta road trip with a 6-1 win over the host Edmonton Oil Kings Sunday.
Playing their third game in as many days, the Broncos got 42 saves from Logan Flodell and finished three-for-four on the power play to finish the trip with two wins in three attempts.
Captain Glenn Gawdin continued his strong recent production with his 27th and 28th goals of the season.
Colby Sissons, Kole Gable, Matteo Gennaro, and Quinton Waitzner, with his first career goal, also scored for the Broncos.
Artyom Minulin collected three assists. Ethan Regnier and Aleksi Heponiemi each added two assists for the Broncos. Heponiemi returned from injury to extend his point streak to 21 games and leads the WHL with 52 assists and 71 points.
Gawdin now has career highs with 28 goals and 61 points in 31 games this season.
Flodell improved to 18-6-2-3 this season. Former Bronco Travis Child took the loss with 24 saves on 30 shots.
The Broncos moved back into second spot in the East Division with a 22-7-2-0 record. They will host the Prince Albert Raiders on Tuesday and the Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday to conclude a stretch of five games in six days.
