Peewee Broncos earn a point at home

The Swift Current Southwest Terminal Broncos earned one point during two league games against visiting Yorkton over the weekend.

Saturday, the Broncos lost 4-2 on goals from Connor Choo-Foo and Carter Herman. Brayden Sumner, Herman, Madden Wallis, and Rylan Williams all picked up assists in the loss.

Sunday, the Broncos had a better offensive performance in a 5-5 draw. Choo-Foo led the way with three goals and one assist, while Jace Bymoen added a goal and two assists and Nolan Stevenson also scored. Herman added a pair of assists, followed by single helpers from Sumner, Carson Sabine, and Wallis.

The Broncos finished the weekend with a 6-5-1 record in third spot in the South Saskatchewan Peewee AA Hockey League behind Weyburn and Yorkton.

The Peewee Broncos will host a 12-team tournament next weekend. They open the tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m. against Melfort at Fairview East Arena. They also play the Saskatoon Titans on Friday at 7 p.m. The playoffs will begin Saturday and will conclude Sunday with the gold medal game at 11:30 a.m.
