The Swift Current Broncos allowed four power play goals in a 7-4 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors Tuesday.
The Warriors finished four-for-six on the power play, while the Broncos scored once on two man-advantages. Jayden Halbgewachs led the Warriors with three goals and two assists, while Justin Almeida scored twice and Barrett Sheen and Noah Gregor also scored. Brody Willms improved to 13-4-0-0 with 23 saves on 27 shots.
Tyler Steenbergen led the Broncos with two goals and an assist, while Logan Foster and Aleksi Heponiemi also scored. Logan Flodell fell to 12–3-1-0 after allowing seven goals on 41 shots.
Steenbergen leads the WHL with 49 points and 28 goals in only 18 games this season. Heponiemi is second with 48 points, followed by Gawdin with 40 points.
The Broncos fell five points behind the Warriors for top spot in the East Division with a 13-4-1-0 record, while the Warriors improved to 16-4-0-0 with their sixth straight win.
The Broncos will be off until Friday when they visit the Medicine Hat Tigers.
