The Swift Current Comp. Ardens placed fifth out of 16 teams at Soccerfest in Moose Jaw with a 3-1 record over the weekend.
They opened the tournament with a 4-0 win over Regina’s Sheldon Williams before suffering a 3-2 overtime loss to Regina’s LeBoldus Golden Suns.
The Ardens rebounded Saturday with a 7-0 win over Moose Jaw Central and a 3-0 victory over Saskatoon Evan Hardy.
Captain Lauryn Hayes led the Ardens with four goals and two assists, while Amy Neufeld added a goal and five assists. Ali Vance scored three goals and Rebecca Treen assisted on three goals. Allison Wall, Cassie Barber, and MJ Anderson all found the back of the net twice, while Taylor Kohls and Jodi-Lynn Jacklin added single markers.
Jaden McKenzie earned two of the wins in goal, while Juliana Whalen won the tournament opener.
The Ardens will be in Moose Jaw on Tuesday for league action against the Moose AE Peacock Tornadoes. They are back at home Thursday to face the Central Cyclones at 4:30 p.m. at Irwin School Field.
