Swift Current’s Tanner Fritzke made a relief appearance for Team Saskatchewan at the Baseball Canada 2017 21U Men’s Championships in Ottawa/Gatineau today.

Saskatchewan dropped their opening game 4-3 to Nova Scotia on Thursday morning. Fritzke took the mound for the seventh inning and induced two ground balls and then struck the final batter out while throwing six of his nine pitches for strikes during a perfect relief inning.

Saskatchewan will also face Quebec this afternoon. They will continue the round robin on Friday against Ontario 2 and Prince Edward Island on Saturday.

Fritzke played for the Williston State College Tetons this past season, where he appeared in five games as a pitcher.
